As part of our Back to School Awareness Campaign, we’re providing a tool every parent needs in their back pocket: a simple letter you can send to your child’s school stating that you do not give permission for your child to be interviewed by DHR, law enforcement, or any agency without your knowledge or presence.
Every year, children are pulled from classrooms and questioned alone, sometimes by strangers. These interviews can lead to confusion, fear, and in some cases, families being torn apart without cause or context.
Let us be clear. You have the right to be involved. You have the right to protect your child.
