On May 24, 2025, BriAuna Morgan received the kind of call no mother should ever get. Her one-year-old son, Kemari Morgan, was found dead while in the custody of Person County Child Protective Services in North Carolina.
Since that moment, BriAuna has been left in the dark. She has not been allowed to see him. She does not know what happened to her baby.
She is being forced to grieve in confusion, fear, and silence, with no answers, no dignity, and no justice. It is unbearable. No mother should ever be put through this.
Families and Advocates Are Demanding Answers
Operation Stop CPS is calling on supporters everywhere to take action. They are urging the public to call Person County directly and demand truth, transparency, and justice for BriAuna and Kemari Morgan.
After-hours number: 336-598-2608
Sample Call Script:
“My name is [Your Name], and I am calling to demand that Person County immediately contact BriAuna Morgan and provide her with full information about the death of her one-year-old son, Kemari Morgan. It is unacceptable that a mother has been left without answers. She deserves to know what happened to her child. Hold them accountable. Speak his name. Demand answers.”
“Why Was He in CPS Custody?” Does Not Excuse His Death
That is the question some people ask, as if it changes the outcome. As if it excuses the silence. As if it justifies a child dying while in the care of a system that claimed it was there to protect.
Let us be clear.
The moment the state takes custody, it also takes responsibility. When a child dies in that custody, we do not ask why he was there. We ask why he is gone.
Protection should never lead to a funeral.
And oversight should never result in silence.

Say His Name. Demand Justice.
We say his name , Kemari Morgan, because we refuse to let his story be erased. His life mattered. His death must not be ignored.
If you believe in truth, dignity, and accountability, now is the time to act. Share his name. Demand justice. Stand with the families fighting every day to bring their children home alive.
