Why We’re Going Silent This Mother’s Day Weekend

ANNOUNCEMENT 💗
This Mother’s Day, Families vs. DHR will observe a Silent Weekend—Friday evening through Monday morning—in honor of every mother silenced by the system. Full details below.

This weekend, we are choosing silence.

Not because we are empty of words, but because the truth we carry deserves something deeper than posts or captions.

“The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

From Friday evening through Monday morning, Families vs. DHR will observe a Silent Weekend a sacred pause in honor of every mother who has been silenced by the system.

We’re doing this for the ones who…

  • Were labeled “unfit” without a full investigation.
  • Were pushed aside in courtrooms that never truly heard them.
  • Are still mourning children taken without cause.
  • Were criminalized for protecting their own.
  • Are quietly holding on to hope while the world scrolls past their pain.

This silence is our protest.
It is our prayer.
It is our tribute.

While this platform and our social media pages will remain still, our weekly Spotlight Sunday will still go live as usual right here, offering reflection, truth, and resilience in honor of Mother’s Day.

We know that this weekend is hard for many. It can feel like the world is celebrating while your heart is breaking.
But please know: you are not forgotten. You are not alone. You are still a mother.

This is our moment of reverence.
And on Monday we rise together.

“There is no greater silence than that of a mother grieving what the world refused to see.”
